Songer review: what it actually is

Songer is not a done-for-you gift service, it is a make-your-own AI music tool with credits and a subscription. This review covers the pricing model, the partial preview, and who it is really for.

The verdict

Songer is a different product from the rest of these reviews. Judge it as an AI tool you drive, not a song written for you.

What is good

  • Very cheap per song
  • Make and preview many songs before spending
  • Lyrics you write stay yours
  • The company replies to nearly every negative review

What surprises people

  • It is self-serve; nobody writes the song for you
  • The free preview is only half the track
  • Prices appear only after you sign up
  • A subscription tier with expiring monthly credits, and 10 free credits offered for a review

Is Songer legit?

Yes. Songer (run by Liveteq LLC) is a real AI music platform with a 4.8 Trustpilot rating across 2,665 reviews, and it answers most negative ones. It is not a scam. It is also not the same as songr.ai or Songly, so check which site a review is about.

Two things belong next to that rating. Prices are shown only after you sign up, so the one public figure is the roughly $1.19 per song from their ads. And Songer offers 10 free credits for leaving a Trustpilot review, which it discloses on its own help centre, worth knowing as context for the score, not as a reason to doubt it. The main point for a gift-buyer, though, is simpler: Songer is a tool you operate, not a song made about your person.

What customers say

Themes from one- and two-star Trustpilot reviews, paraphrased. Songer replies to nearly all of them, usually explaining a feature or pointing to support. Worth noting alongside: Songer offers 10 free credits for leaving a Trustpilot review, which it discloses on its own help centre.

The song cuts off in the middle and the fix tool did not fix it.

At BeatJar: The most common complaint, and one of the two defects their help centre accepts for a refund. At BeatJar you hear the complete song before paying, so an ending problem is caught before money moves.

I emailed support for weeks and only got marketing emails back.

At BeatJar: Reviewers report long support silences. BeatJar support is a person on email, and the preview means most problems are fixed before purchase, not argued about after.

I could not find how to cancel, and my card kept being charged.

At BeatJar: Max has an in-account cancel button per their help centre, but the friction reports are frequent. BeatJar has nothing to cancel: you pay once, after hearing the song.

The free preview is just a fragment; the best part is the sample.

At BeatJar: The preview is 50% by design, up to 90% on the paid tier. The whole song, before payment, is the BeatJar mechanism.

It rewrote my lyrics and dropped half of them.

At BeatJar: Their default mode may alter user lyrics; exact-lyrics control sits on upgraded plans. At BeatJar you approve the exact lyrics before the song exists.

Revisions Free until it sounds right "Once a song is generated, it can't be edited directly"; a regenerate is a new locked song, one more credit
Refund Nothing to refund: you pay after hearing it Terms: "All purchases are non-refundable"; help centre allows two defects (bad ending, audio glitch)

The credits row matters more than it looks: pay-as-you-go credits never expire, but the Max subscription's monthly 60 do, and cancelling voids whatever is left of them.
