How GiftSong works
You pick a genre, a voice and a language, enter a name and an occasion, and type a story. Then the site asks you to create an account before it shows your song: first name, last name, email, how you heard of them, and a tick for the terms, or a Google sign-in. Their homepage promises "a 60-second sample instantly" with lyric tweaks and style changes before you pay. One song costs $34.99 and comes with a sharing page. Subscribers get the MP3 included; single-song buyers pay extra.
Their own pages name the tools behind it. The homepage says "Our AI and musicians handle the rest", and the privacy policy lists outside providers for "generating the music and vocals" and for "drafting and refining the lyrics". It is a self-serve product, closer to Songer than to a service that writes the song for you.
The fine print worth reading
The pricing page says "Not happy with your song? We'll remake it, free." Yet the terms, updated 2 September 2026, say "No refunds will be provided" and "all sales are final" after purchase. Both can hold if a remake is the only remedy, but no page says so. Annual plans carry an early-cancellation fee of half the remaining months, and you cannot cancel one from the account dashboard. Contact runs through [email protected]. Trustpilot lists the United Kingdom, and the terms name no company.
How BeatJar works
You type a few sentences about a person. We write the lyrics from them. Then you read every line and hear the first 45 seconds, and you pay from US$37.95 only if it is right. The price sits on the page before you start, revisions are free, and you keep the MP3.
What GiftSong's own pages say
Quoted from their pages on 22 October 2026.
Refund promise
"Not happy with your song? We'll remake it, free."
What it means: The pricing page offers a free remake and says nothing about money back.
Refund terms
"No refunds will be provided if you are dissatisfied with the full song after purchase"
What it means: The terms rule out refunds and call every sale final.
MP3 download
"NOT INCLUDED"
What it means: The $34.99 song has no MP3 until you buy the add-on.
MP3 add-on
"From $9 per song"
What it means: Song plus MP3 comes to $43.99 before any video or print.
Annual cancellation
"You cannot cancel through your account dashboard - you must contact support via email"
What it means: Annual plan holders must email support to cancel.
Annual refunds
"There is no refund of any previously paid subscription fees"
What it means: Money paid for a subscription period stays paid.
Sample
"Hear a 60-second sample instantly. Tweak lyrics, change the vibe, add a personal image and note. Only pay when you love it."
What it means: The homepage promises a 60-second sample and does not say what it shows.
AI
"Our AI and musicians handle the rest."
What it means: GiftSong says AI is part of how its songs get made.
Every lyric shows on screen and the first 45 seconds of your own song play before you pay. BeatJar is a song service, not a tool: prices start at US$37.95 and the MP3 is yours to keep.

What GiftSong customers complain about
Themes from the ten 1-, 2- and 3-star Trustpilot reviews we read, paraphrased. Counts can overlap. The other 176 are mostly positive about speed and ease.
I paid for the song and then they wanted more money to download it, or the download was hard to complete (4 of the 10 we read).
At BeatJar: GiftSong's single song leaves out the MP3, which costs extra. With BeatJar you keep the MP3, with no second charge.
The lyrics skipped things that mattered, and fixing one word changed the entire track (2 of the 10).
At BeatJar: You read every lyric first and can change any line before we record the song. After delivery, revisions are free and unlimited.
A video or print add-on failed, or I paid and got only the sample, and support went quiet (2 of the 10).
At BeatJar: BeatJar sells one thing, the song, and you pay after the preview. A real error in a delivered song earns a refund or remake within 48 hours of delivery.
I asked for a refund and did not get one (1 of the 10).
At BeatJar: Its terms say all sales are final, while the pricing page offers a free remake. BeatJar spells out refund or remake for real errors within 48 hours of delivery.
What GiftSong does better, fairly
GiftSong wins on speed to a first listen, and on variety. It promises a sample in under five minutes and lets you choose genre, voice and language up front. The sharing page, video gifts and digital wall art are real extras BeatJar does not sell. If you make several songs, the Pro plan drops to as low as $15.66 a song on its own page, which beats any one-off price. Trustpilot rates it 4.7 from 186 reviews, 88% of them five-star, and most reviewers praise how easy it is.
Before you order from either
Ask four questions before any order. What exactly can I hear before paying? Does the price include the MP3? What happens if a line is wrong? Does anything recur on my card? GiftSong answers them with a 60-second sample, a $9 add-on, a free remake that its terms contradict, and monthly or yearly plans. BeatJar answers with every lyric plus 45 seconds, an MP3 you keep, a 48-hour refund or remake for real errors, and no subscription. Our GiftSong review and the all-rivals hub go through the same points in review order.
