A love song about the two of you, for no reason at all
Most of the songs we make are not for a birthday or an anniversary. They are for a Tuesday, from someone who wanted to say it properly. Their name, your story, the genre you both play in the car.
A custom love song is an original song written about one relationship from the story you tell: how you met, what they do that nobody else notices, the thing you never quite say out loud, set to music in the style you like. At BeatJar you type the story, read the lyrics we write from it, hear a preview, and pay only if it is right.
There is no card for "you make my mornings easier" or "I still watch you when you laugh at your own jokes". Those are the things people type into our form, and they are exactly what a love song is for: saying the specific thing, out loud, in a form they can keep.
The songs on this page were ordered with no occasion at all. Someone had something to say and picked a day. Play one first. If you can picture your person hearing their own name in a chorus on an ordinary evening, the rest of the page is for you.
Real love songs, made from real stories
Each one started as a few sentences typed into our form. Press play, then read the story it came from.

A gift on a birthday is expected. A song on a Wednesday is not, and that is the whole point. It says you were thinking about them when nothing required you to, and it says exactly what you were thinking, with their name on it. People send us these for a partner who has had a hard month, for a long-distance relationship, for a spouse of thirty years who has stopped expecting surprises, and for a new relationship where the words feel too big to say in person.
The research on relationships points the same way. According to Gordon, Impett and their colleagues (2012), partners who feel appreciated become more appreciative in return, and in turn more responsive to each other and more committed to staying together over time, and, as Chan and Mogilner (2017) found, experiential gifts do more for a relationship than material ones. Familiar music is wired into the part of the brain that holds our memories, a pattern Janata (2009) documented, which is why a song with their name in it keeps working long after the day it arrived. The papers are listed at the bottom of the page.
For a wife or husband
The years, the kids, the habits you would miss. Written for the person who does everything and hears about it least.
For a girlfriend or boyfriend
How it started, the first trip, the thing they do that you cannot explain to your friends. Romantic or playful, depending on you two.
For long distance
The time zones, the calls, the countdown to the next visit. A song they can play when you are not there.
After a hard stretch
Illness, a rough year, a season of being apart. Say what you saw them carry and where you are now.
For the words you never say
Some people find it easier to type the story than to say it. The song says it for you, and it says it every time it plays.
For a date night
Play it in the car on the way, or at the table. A three-minute song that is only about the two of you.

What to put in the story
Love songs are the ones people overthink. You do not need a grand story. You need the small true things: the way they say goodbye, what they cook on Sundays, the drive you take every summer, the year that tested you. Three or four of those carry a whole song.
Here are three stories from real orders with no occasion attached, exactly as the customers typed them, punctuation and all. Each became a song you can play on this page.
Partner, from the bus stop
He was the bus dad and I was the hot chick at the bus stop he had a crush on. After years, we crossed paths ironically and have now fallen madly in love. We haul and set up manufactured homes together. Our love was so unexpected and we have and are facing a lot of obstacles to be together but our love is unexplainable so it’s worth every hardship. We love sharing Twix bars and pretzels and lots of snacks.
Girlfriend, from the roller rink
We met at the roller rink. Her sweet smile when saying yes that she would be my girlfriend. The way she opens up to me. Hold hands while we skate. Laughed while eating ice cream. Read Bible verses together on FaceTime. Ahe makes me feel ao special. Love hearing her say she loves me.
Partner, met online
We met online, first date was 6 hours long with her asking me 25 pointed questions. I love her passion for life and her contagious laugh. I love that she loves me from tip to tail. I love being with her at home, Costco or Europe….she truly is my best friend and I’m blessed to have her in my life
Notice what they have in common: a habit, a place, one hard thing, one thing they always say. That is enough. Write more if you want to. A list is fine too.
Which sound fits a love song
You pick the genre, the feel and the voice on the order form, and you can change any of them after hearing the preview. In our order records, country is the style most people choose for a love song, ahead of acoustic. If you are unsure, these pairings tend to fit:
From him to her: country or R&B, romantic, male vocal. This is the combination most of the songs on this page use.
From her to him: country or acoustic, romantic or emotional, female vocal.
For a new relationship: acoustic or pop, playful or romantic. Keep it light; the details do the work.
For long distance: soulful or emotional, a slower tempo, a chorus they can play on repeat.
For a duet: when the song is about the two of you rather than one of you speaking to the other.
After a hard stretch: emotional or soulful. Say what you came through, then say where you are.
When to give it
Any day. That is the advantage. But the ones that land hardest tend to be the ordinary ones: a Tuesday after work, in the car before dinner, the morning after a hard week. Play it without announcing it. Let the first line say their name.
If you want a reason anyway, a date night works, and so does the anniversary of something small: the first date, the day you moved in, the day you got the dog.
If you want it tonight
The story takes about ten minutes to type, the lyrics and the preview come back while you wait, and you choose the delivery window at checkout. The shortest window is an hour.
Do not rush the story, though. The songs that land hardest are the ones with the Sunday pancakes and the goodbye ritual in them. Have those ready before you start.

I am so happy to have gotten a song for my husband. I was eagerly waiting for him to get home from work to see his face listen to the song. I waited until going to bed to play it for him and his face was epic ! His entire mood changed and he got very sentimental and happy! He said he loved it so much and can’t believe how accurate it was. He wanted me to share it on facebook and make sure everyone else knew how special the song was. Sadly I want able to share it on Facebook for some reason, but i try to figure it out. Overall, the song gift was perfect for my husband. He heard the song at least 5 times the night I presented him with it. He loved it.

The song that I picked for my husband not only moved him to cheers but also me to cheers so wonderfully crafted and composed the music was excellent. The female that sang the song did a marvelous job everything from start to finish including the price. The price is not bad for what you get it’s actually outstanding. I’ve already recommended this to several of my friends. This was a great great gift for my husband just because I love him.

I’m so thankful the ad popped up on my Facebook feed! Creating a custom song is one of the coolest and sweetest things I could’ve imagined. I made a song for my kiddos to tell them how much I love them and I cried my eyes out. Absolutely worth it! I’m ready for the Beat Jar app😎

Honestly they made it easy. If you ever think about it,,, and are not sure if it's actually worth it, or gonna be good? Well let me tell you, I was that person. I had 15 min in the morning free when I came across that ad again. I took a chance, because I really missed my man that morning. It was the best thing I did. Honestly it was money Well spent . And even though we were apart, for some time I could let him know how i feel about him. Go for it. Is easy

When my wife figured out the song was about her, she choked up crying. She was smiling, crying, hugging me and laughing. She told me afterwards this gift - the song, is the best gift I gave her. She said "you do lots of kind things for me, but this one was the best, it was perfect."

The song they created was even better than what I had hoped for. I got the reaction I wanted. (She cried and hugged me.) I was impressed with the quality of the lyrics. My wife even said that she felt as if I wrote the words myself based on our memories and experiences. I definitely recommend them.

When I sat my wife down and the music started to Play. When it sung her name. Her eyes widened and her mouth dropped, and I saw a tear started to develop in her eye.

My father-in-law is 87 and this song was for him. He loves playing guitar but unfortunately he can’t always remember the chords anymore. We chose country as the genre. He started tapping his foot and snapping his fingers as soon as the music started. Then when his name was said his mouth fell open and he started to tear up. I was the one who put in the information in because my husband got too emotional,
After the song my father-in-law said “ wow! She knows me pretty well.

This was way better than I imagined. The control it gives you to customize the song. I was hesitant at first, but Erik reached out to me because my song sat in my cart. He was helpful and explained to me the process and how I can revise the song as much as I want. I finally tweaked it to the vibe I wanted, and when my wife got home I played it on the big speaker for her. She didn't notice at first, but she heard her name in the song she looked up at me with amazement and shock. She stared at me with amazement as she listened to the song, and then she began to cry and gave me a huge hug. I've been married for 21 years. Our lives are hectic, as we have five beautiful children. This was worth every penny, and it wasn't even expensive. The joy it brought her, it definitely helped us feel that fire again. I recommend this to anyone.

Questions people ask about love songs
Do I need an occasion?
No. Most of the songs we make have no occasion at all; the order form has a "just because" option and it is the one people pick most. Any day works, and the ordinary ones tend to land hardest.
What should a love song be about?
The specific things. How you met, one habit, one place, one hard thing you got through, the thing you always say to each other. The stories behind the songs on this page run from three sentences to ten. Names and details are what make it sound like you two and not like a greeting card.
Can it be for my boyfriend or girlfriend, not a spouse?
Yes. Tell us who they are to you and how long it has been. A newer relationship usually suits a lighter feel, playful or romantic, with the details doing the work.
Can I hear it before I pay?
Yes. You read the full lyrics and hear a preview of your song before paying anything. If it is not right, change it or walk away.
Which genre should I pick?
Whatever you two actually listen to. For love songs, country is chosen most, then acoustic, and the most common feel is romantic. You can change the genre after hearing the preview.
Can it be funny instead of romantic?
Yes. Pick a playful or fun feel and give us the jokes: the parking, the snoring, the way they order coffee. A love song that makes them laugh is still a love song.
How long is it?
A full song with verses, a chorus and a bridge, usually two to three minutes. Not a jingle.
What does it cost?
From US$37.95. The price depends only on how fast you want it delivered, and you see it before you pay.
