How does Dear Melodies work?

Dear Melodies sells plans, not single songs. Per the homepage, the order runs "Purchase a plan, share your story in the app, and receive a heartfelt melody." You pay first and write your story second. $33.40 buys the 4-week plan and $62.00 the 8-week plan. Both list "3 songs per 4 weeks", and both renew until you cancel. The button reads "Start My Plan", and the page says you can cancel in your account settings.

Cancelling stops future renewals but gives no automatic refund for money already paid. Uninstalling the app leaves the plan running.

What do Dear Melodies' terms say about refunds and AI?

The refund policy sets a strict default: no refund for dissatisfaction when the service ran as described, and none for a missed renewal date. A refund is possible if the service failed through their fault or the company confirms a billing error. Meanwhile the homepage says "100% guaranteed", yet the policy never defines that guarantee.

An email brings a private link and, per the FAQ, an MP3 to keep. The homepage calls each song "crafted from scratch". Section 11.3 of the terms mentions third-party AI systems, and none of the pages we read says who sings.

What happens when you order from BeatJar?

You type the story. We write the lyrics and show them to you. Then we play the first 45 seconds of your song before you pay anything. You can change any lyric line before we record it, or walk away. When it sounds right, you pay from US$37.95 for that song, and the MP3 is included: download it, share it with family, play it at the party. Revisions stay free after delivery, and you pick the delivery window at checkout. 30,800+ songs have gone out this way, rated 4.9 on Trustpilot from 1,050+ reviews.

Which Facebook pages run the Dear Melodies ads?

On 18 October 2026 the Meta Ad Library showed more than 500 active ads for dearmelodies.com, the point where the library count stops. Of those, 289 started in the last 30 days. The ads run on several Facebook pages named for single people, among them "Elara Whitmore", "Ella Dawson" and "Beau Walker Music". One more page goes by "Dear Melodies Music". If an ad from one of those pages brought you here, its link goes to dearmelodies.com.

At BeatJar: you see one price before you start, pay only after the preview, and revisions after delivery are free.

6 of 15

Paid, but the song never arrived, hid somewhere in the app, or would not play.

At BeatJar: you hear the start of your own song before paying, and you choose the delivery window at checkout.

At BeatJar: you pick the delivery window at checkout: Express about an hour, standard within 24 hours.

What does Dear Melodies do better than BeatJar?

If you want several songs over a few weeks, the plan can cost less per song. At $33.40 for three songs, a customer who uses all three pays about $11 each. Per its policy, unused credits "do not carry over". The 4.8 Trustpilot score from 635 reviews is high, and the company replied to most of the low ratings we read. The FAQ promises an MP3 to keep. Styles include ballad, acoustic, pop and country. Anyone who cannot wait three days can pay for rush. A registered US company with a Delaware address stands behind it. Its 8-week plan lists unlimited revisions, which BeatJar also offers after delivery.

What should you check before ordering from either?

  • "Start My Plan" begins a subscription that renews, so check the billing line at checkout.
  • Cancel at least 48 hours before the next billing date, because deleting the app does not cancel.
  • Read the refund policy first. Theirs says payments are "generally final", while BeatJar lets you hear the start of your song before you pay.
  • Ask what changes cost. Several reviewers say fixing a mistake cost extra, and BeatJar revisions after delivery are free.
  • Keep your receipt and email, since support asks for the email, date and amount if anything goes wrong.

Hear your song, then keep it

Every lyric and 45 seconds of your song come first, with the MP3 included from US$37.95. Only if it is right.

You read the lyrics and hear a preview before you pay.

Questions people ask

How much does Dear Melodies cost?
Two plans appear on the homepage as of 18 October 2026: $33.40 every 4 weeks and $62.00 every 8 weeks. Both say "Auto renews" and "3 songs per 4 weeks". Those are subscription prices, not the price of one song. We could not confirm the price of rush delivery, an extra fee.
Does Dear Melodies auto-renew?
Yes. Their refund policy says "subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each subscription period ... until canceled" and that you must cancel at least 48 hours before the next billing date. Several Trustpilot reviewers describe a second bill after one song.
Is Dear Melodies legit?
It looks like a real, working company: Moonway LLC in Delaware sells it, it has 635 Trustpilot reviews at 4.8, and most reviewers received songs they loved. The risk is the billing model and the "generally final" refund policy, so read the plan terms before paying.
Can you hear a Dear Melodies song before you pay?
Not your own. The page plays a 3:27 sample song, and the order is plan first, then "share your story in the app". BeatJar plays the first 45 seconds of your song and shows every lyric before payment.
Does Dear Melodies use AI?
The homepage calls songs "crafted from scratch". The terms add "Some Services may rely on third-party artificial intelligence systems". We found no page naming who writes or sings a given song. Two Trustpilot reviewers say support replies came from an AI.
Why do I see Dear Melodies ads from pages with people's names?
Its ads ran from pages named "Elara Whitmore", "Ella Dawson" and "Beau Walker Music", plus "Dear Melodies Music", in the Meta Ad Library on 18 October 2026, all linking to dearmelodies.com. Check the website address in the ad before you pay anyone.
