Story, lyrics and the songWho each one is for
Songful is a London custom-song service that charges $49, and BeatJar is a custom-song service that costs US$37.95. According to their own pages, read in 2026, two things set them apart: what you hear before paying, and what the refund covers.
Pick BeatJar if
- You want to read every lyric and hear the first 45 seconds of your song before paying
- A Trustpilot rating you can check matters to you: 4.9 from 1,050+ reviews
- You want to pay after the preview, not after ordering
- Revisions should stay free after the song arrives
- You like choosing between Express (about an hour) and standard (within 24 hours) delivery at checkout
Pick Songful if
- The $49 on their sale banner is the number that counts
- Three versions to choose between sound better than one
- A photo slideshow music video ($24.99) or lyric art ($14.99) in the same order appeals to you
- A 30-day money-back window on the homepage reassures you
Which should you pick, Songful or BeatJar?
Songful costs $49 on a sale banner that lists $99, and it emails three versions of your song in under an hour. A BeatJar song costs US$37.95. You read every lyric and hear the first 45 seconds of your own song before you pay, then keep the MP3. Songful's pages never say how much of a song you hear first, or when it charges your card. Its homepage promises a full refund within 30 days, yet its terms limit refunds to faulty songs and call a song you merely dislike no fault. Songful gives you the lower price and more versions per order. BeatJar gives you a stated preview length, one preview per order and free revisions after delivery. Choose Songful for price and choice of versions. Choose BeatJar to hear your own song before paying.

What Songful's own pages say
Quoted from songful.com on 22 October 2026.
Lyrics first
"Nothing gets made until you've seen the lyrics and approved every word - you can edit any line until it's just right."
What it means: Lyrics get your sign-off before any song exists.
Three versions
"We email you 3 full versions of your song in under 1 hour. Pick your favorite, or ask us to make more."
What it means: You get three songs to choose from, and can ask for more.
Refund on the homepage
"If you don't love it, we'll remake it for free. Change the genre, the lyrics, or the whole vibe. No questions asked. If you still don't love it, just let us know within 30 days of placing your order and we'll give you a full refund."
What it means: A remake first, then a full refund if you ask within 30 days of ordering.
Refund in the terms
"Subjective dissatisfaction with the AI's creative choices (you don't like the style, tone, or melody) is not a fault - it doesn't entitle you to a refund, provided the song is technically sound and matches your brief."
What it means: Only a faulty song earns a refund here, not one you simply dislike.
AI disclosure
"We create custom songs using automated AI music generation technology. You submit a brief through our website, our systems generate your song, and we deliver it digitally via a dedicated Song Page."
What it means: Software makes the songs, according to the legal text. Marketing pages say only "the world's best song creation technology".
How does an order at Songful run?
A short form asks for the recipient, the occasion, a genre, a mood, a male or female vocalist and a few details about the person. Songful writes the lyrics and lets you edit them. Placing the order and confirming lyrics takes 5 to 10 minutes, and the song follows within 60 minutes. The email holds three versions, and you can ask for more. A Song Page and an MP3 download come with it.
Songs run about 2 minutes (6 verses) or about 3 minutes (10 verses), chosen when you order. We could not see whether length changes the price. Optional extras are an Add to YouTube upload ($19.99), a photo slideshow music video ($24.99) and digital lyric art ($14.99).
Company records list Songful Ltd in London, number 15129242. Under the terms, customers outside the UK agree to individual arbitration in London.
How does an order at BeatJar run?
You type the story. We write the lyrics, show them to you, and play the first 45 seconds of your song before you pay anything, as our hear it first page explains. Any lyric line can change before we record the song. Happy with it, you pay US$37.95 and keep the MP3 to play at the party. Revisions stay free after delivery, and checkout lets you pick the delivery window. 30,800+ songs have gone out this way, rated 4.9 on Trustpilot from 1,050+ reviews.

Where does Songful beat BeatJar?
Their $49 sale price undercuts ours, and you get three versions of the song where we make one. Every order carries a promise of delivery in under an hour, and the same checkout sells a photo slideshow music video and lyric art. A 30-day money-back window on its front page beats our 48 hours. Songful also publishes a Song Reveal Guide, a help center and a creator program. Its site claims 21,000+ customers and a 4.97 rating from 3600+ reviews, which we could not check against an independent source.
What should you check before ordering from either?
- Check the refund wording. The front page says full refund within 30 days, and the terms say a song you simply dislike is not a fault. Ask support which one applies before paying.
- Ask when your card gets charged. Nothing on the site says if payment comes before you hear the three versions.
- Add up the extras. A YouTube upload, a video and lyric art come to $59.97 on top of the $49.
- Compare more services in the full comparison hub, or read the Songful review and the Songbond review.
- Make sure you mean the right Songful. The class-booking app and the nursery-rhyme channel are different businesses.
