How Songlorious works
You pick a genre and a length, choose an artist from their roster (that is the $20 "Yes Artist" option; the default is "No Artist"), fill in your story and pay. The song arrives in four business days, or two if you paid $80 more. Their marketing says "in as little as 24 hours" and "next-day option", but the fastest delivery you can actually buy on a product page is two business days.
Before paying you get their artists' voice samples and sample songs. Your own lyrics come after purchase: "You also read the finished lyrics yourself and can change any line you want, before a single note is recorded." That is a real safeguard, and a better one than most human-artist services offer. It is still after the money has left.
The terms are strict. "Every song is custom made to-order and cannot be reused by another customer, so unfortunately we cannot offer refunds." You can cancel within 24 hours "minus a 35% service and processing fee". The guarantee covers four things: a good-quality recording, the ordered length, vocals on key, and lyrics that contain some of your story and the four details you asked for. Anything else, in their words, "based on music taste/preference" is charged "depending on the extent". No number of free revisions is published.
One more line from their homepage FAQ matters because of how they market. Their site header says "Real artists. Real voices." and they run a page arguing against AI music. The FAQ answer to "Real artists or AI?" says: "We use advanced music technology, including AI tools, as part of our production process." They add that no song ships without human direction and that the voices are based on real singers who are paid. Both things can be true; buyers paying the human premium should know both.
How BeatJar works
You type the story. We write the lyrics from it and play you the whole song, start to finish, before you pay anything. Change a line, change the genre, or walk away; nothing is charged until you say it is right. Then you pay from US$37.95, pick the delivery window at checkout (about an hour at the shortest), and keep the MP3.
There is no per-minute pricing, no artist add-on and no revision fee. 28,500+ songs have gone out this way and the Trustpilot rating sits at 4.9 from 1,000+ reviews. The song above this section is a real one, with the story the customer typed shown next to the lyrics it became.
The fastest way to compare is to hear yours. It costs nothing until you like it.

Songlorious review: what customers say they wish was different
Songlorious has 238 Trustpilot reviews at 4.8, and only 16 of the 233 we read were three stars or below, so these are the recurring themes in a small group, not statistics. Their positive reviews praise the studio quality and, above all, that "a real artist" made it.
Most common
Paid for faster delivery and the song still arrived after the birthday.
At BeatJar: you choose the delivery window at checkout and the shortest is about an hour.
Most common
Emailed about a problem and heard back about once a week, if at all.
At BeatJar: a small team that answers, and a preview step that removes most reasons to write in.
The song got the anniversary year wrong, or came in a different genre from the one I ordered.
At BeatJar: you read every line and hear the genre before paying. Wrong details never reach the final song.
Cancelled within the hour and got 65% back. Others went through PayPal to recover the money.
At BeatJar: there is nothing to claw back, because you pay after you have heard it.
The name was repeated over and over in place of lyrics; it felt like a template.
At BeatJar: the lyrics are written from your story, and you judge them before they cost you anything.
Asked for a change and was quoted over $100 for it.
At BeatJar: revisions are free until it sounds right.
What Songlorious does better
Fairly stated: Songlorious lets you pick a specific singer after hearing their voice, and that is a real feature that customers mention by name. A human songwriter goes through the lyrics with you before recording, and a human producer mixes the track. They sell a cassette, a streaming release and a clearly priced commercial licence, which BeatJar does not. They choose song length as a product, up to three minutes, and the acoustic tier starts lower than most human-artist services.
And they were on Shark Tank, where the founders struck a deal with four investors. That is social proof BeatJar cannot match, and for some buyers it settles the question.
If you want a named voice, have four business days, and are comfortable with a no-refund policy, Songlorious is a reasonable choice. Read the terms first, especially the four-item guarantee.
Before you order from either
- Add up the real price. Songlorious's $95 is one minute of acoustic pop with no artist. A three-minute pop song with a named singer, faster delivery and a streaming release is $455.
- Check the date. Four business days standard, two at the fastest. BeatJar delivers in the window you choose.
- Know what "revision" means. At Songlorious, free only for the four promised items; taste changes are billed. At BeatJar, free until it sounds right, before you pay.
- Decide how much the human premium is worth to you, knowing their FAQ says AI tools are part of the process.
